Research has proven that Black Americans experience the healthcare system differently than their white counterparts. There are multiple underlying reasons for this: implicit bias, systemic racism, social determinants of health are but a few. The result is that Black people have far different outcomes for many disease states. These disparities have life threatening consequences.
