CARE UPDATE
As we last reported, Community Medicaid changes in care were to begin on or about November 8. There has been NO new guidance on these changes. My hope is that the start will be delayed further but only New York State knows and they have yet to share any details. I will update you when we have more information.
FINANCIAL UPDATE
Financial look back for Community Medicaid has seemingly been pushed back to July 1, 2022. This refers to the state looking back at financial transfers made after 10/1/2020 to discern approval for Community Medicaid. Our previous blog posts and Care Answered’s webinars noted that the start of this financial look back that would affect community Medicaid applicants’ approval was to begin April 1, 2022.
This information may give you a little breathing room but DO NOT DELAY if you are thinking of community Medicaid as a potential for you or your loved ones. There is always planning that can be done, but start the process now to access the best care.
